TikTok Ads Management

Before you spend on TikTok, I check whether your buyers are there and whether your product is allowed. If it fits, I brief the videos from the questions your buyers already search, boost the ones that earn attention as Spark Ads, and track the effect beyond TikTok's own clicks.

Fit check in days 1 to 3. If TikTok isn't earning its place, I tell you and the budget moves elsewhere.

Signs you need help with TikTok ads

  • You're not sure your buyers even use TikTok.
  • Videos you reused from Facebook flopped.
  • Your videos get views, but few people visit your website.
  • You don't know what to ask creators to make.
  • TikTok's reported conversions don't match your real orders.
  • Your ads get rejected for vague reasons.

Is TikTok right for your business?

TikTok is an entertainment feed first, and obvious ads get skipped. It works for products you can show, stories worth filming and brands ready to post every week or two. It is a weak first choice when buyers only act at an urgent moment, like someone searching for storage today, or when your product is not allowed.

  • Usually a good fit:

visual or easy-to-demonstrate products, online stores with impulse buys, local services with something to film (moving day, custom rings), brands with a person or process worth showing.

  • Usually not:

products TikTok prohibits, buyers who act only in urgent searches, brands that need weeks of sign-off, businesses that can't supply footage or work with creators.

A quick check you can do yourself: search TikTok for your main buyer questions, see which videos come up, and read the comments.

Planning TikTok videos from your search data

Many people use TikTok to research products, places and how-tos, so the questions in your topical map are often the same ones they type into TikTok. Each video answers one question and stays on that topic. Captions, on-screen text and spoken words use the words people actually search, because TikTok's search reads all three.

Spark Ads: paying only for proven videos

Spark Ads boost organic posts, from your account or a creator's, and keep their likes, comments, follows and profile link. A real person with real engagement earns more trust than a faceless ad.

  1. Post test videos organically first.
  2. Boost only the ones that earn early watch time, shares and saves.
  3. For a creator's post, the creator authorizes it in their app and shares a code, and the ad runs under their name.

Paid spend goes only to videos that have already proved themselves.

What every creator brief contains

Creators need room to sound natural, so a brief sets the direction without a script.

  • One question
The single question or problem the video answers, taken from search data
  • Openings
Three or four first-line options to test
  • Proof
    What to show: a close-up, a process, a before-and-after or a genuine review
  • Rules
Required wording and banned claims, such as health promises or guaranteed results
  • Next step
The call to action and the exact landing page

Paid partnerships are disclosed with TikTok's branded content setting, and creators describe only what they have really experienced. Paid use rights are agreed in writing before filming.

Hooks are tested, not guessed

The first one or two seconds decide whether people keep watching, and on TikTok that matters more than production quality. I test four kinds of opening: a direct question from search, a mistake to avoid, the result shown first, and a comparison. Hooks are judged on how many viewers keep watching past the opening, then on cost per result. A hook that holds attention but brings the wrong people still counts as a loss.

Tracking TikTok's real effect

  • Pixel and Events API:

both send the same events with a shared ID, so TikTok counts each once, and every event is checked against real orders or CRM leads.

  • Beyond the click:

many viewers search for your brand later or buy weeks afterward. I watch brand searches in Search Console during campaigns, compare matched periods with and without spend, and ask "where did you hear about us?" at checkout or intake.

TikTok ads for regulated products

  • Kratom and ingestible CBD

are not accepted for TikTok ads, including paid creator posts. Topical CBD cosmetics may be allowed in some markets, only through TikTok's sales team. For most of these brands I put the budget into organic search and email instead.

  • Law firms

are generally allowed if claims stay factual, though some legal topics get extra review.

  • Movers, self storage and jewelry

are allowed under standard rules, as long as prices, discounts and claims are accurate and match the landing page.

TikTok reviews the landing page too, so a compliant video can still be rejected if its page makes banned claims. Repeated violations can suspend the whole account, so I don't test the edges. Rules change, and every product is checked before launch.

TikTok ads by industry

  • Jewelry:

a strong fit for ring reveals, stone close-ups, custom work and repairs, with honest lab-grown wording. The search side is my Jewelry SEO work.

  • Movers:

moving-day clips work well as Spark Ads, with license and carrier or broker status on every landing page. The search side is my Moving Company SEO work.

  • Law firms:

attorneys answering common questions on camera, within state bar rules. The search side is my Law Firm SEO work.

  • Self storage:

a weak first choice for a single facility. Local SEO and search ads usually return more. The search side is my Self Storage SEO work.

  • Kratom and CBD:

no kratom ads, and CBD only for topical cosmetics where TikTok's sales team allows it. Search and email carry most of the sales. For kratom and CBD, the search side is my Kratom SEO and CBD SEO work.

TikTok Ads questions

Do I have to be on camera?

No, but someone should be. A real person holds attention better: you, your staff or a paid creator.

How do creator usage rights work?

Permission to post organically doesn't cover paid use. Platforms, duration, edits and whose account runs the ad are agreed in writing before filming.

How often do ads need new videos?

More often than on other platforms, because the feed moves fast. The cheapest refresh is a new opening on a video that already works.

Should I sell through TikTok Shop?

Only if it's available in your market and suits your product. For considered buys like fine jewelry, sending buyers to your own site keeps the data and the follow-up.

Will TikTok help my Google rankings?

Not directly. But Google sometimes shows TikTok videos in results, and a strong video can be embedded on a matching page.

Is it risky to build around TikTok?

Any single platform is a risk, and TikTok faces regulatory uncertainty in some countries. Every campaign sends people to assets you own: your website, your email list and your search presence.

Can I reuse the videos on Reels and Shorts?

Yes. Export without the TikTok watermark, adjust captions for each app, and test hooks separately, because winners don't always carry over.

Do you work like a TikTok ads agency?

You get what an agency delivers (fit check, briefs, campaign management, tracking and reporting) from one consultant who does the work. No account managers sit between you and the person running your ads.

Is TikTok's audience too young for my business?

Not necessarily. Age rarely decides fit on its own. Search your main buyer questions on TikTok and read who is commenting.
